Dim sum, which can be literally translated as a “touch of the heart”, is a cuisine loved universally by Singaporeans. Ranging from sweet to savoury, dim sum consists of bite-sized dishes that are usually served from morning to early afternoon, and is thus also known as the “Chinese brunch”. Peach Garden first opened its doors in Novena Garden in 2002, and it has since opened many more branches around Singapore. From Steamed Siew Mai with Crystal Prawns, Steamed BBQ Pork Buns, to XO Chilli Carrot Cake, Peach Garden offers more than 30 different types of dim sum dishes. Originally from Hong Kong, and one of the cheapest Michelin starred restaurants, Tim Ho Wan has now opened its 9th branch in Singapore. Tim Ho Wan offers top-grade dim sum at fairly reasonable prices, priding itself on using only fresh and premium quality ingredients. The “Four Heavenly Kings”—BBQ Pork Buns, Steamed Egg Cake, Beancurd Skin with Pork & Shrimp, and Pan-fried Carrot Cake—should not be missed. The BBQ Pork Buns in particular are a must-try recommendation for first timers! The crispy exterior and unique bun texture complement well with the juicy BBQ pork wrapped inside. Other recommended items include the Steamed Chicken Feet with Black Bean Sauce, and Steamed Pork Dumpling with Shrimp.

An award-winning restaurant, Hai Tien Lo, offers a wide selection of traditional Cantonese dishes. In addition to using age-old recipes to recreate classic flavours, its’ chefs have also created a “New Cantonese” menu with a contemporary twist on traditional dishes. Hai Tien Lo’s classic dim sum includes Steamed Prawn and Asparagus Dumplings, Steamed Charcoal Barbecue Pork Bun with Black Truffles and Pan-fried Rice Flour Rolls with Chef’s Signature Homemade XO Chilli sauce.

The restaurant serves its Weekday Dim Sum Brunch Buffet at a price of $60.80 per pax and Weekend Dim Sum Brunch Buffet at $68.80 per pax. Awarded one Michelin star, Summer Palace is a Cantonese restaurant that serves classic Cantonese dishes and a wide variety of dim sum delicacies. The traditional taste and flavours created by their Hong Kong chefs and their finest selection of fragrant Chinese teas complement extremely well with each other. In addition to the classic dim sum, their chefs also create seasonal dim sum specifically designed for each season. Enjoy their Dim Sum Set Lunch at $28++ per person for a 3-course set, which includes more than 10 different handcrafted dim sum, a double-boiled soup of the day, and a refreshing dessert. Peach Blossom has won many hearts among Singaporeans with its delectable authentic Cantonese cuisine, and its cosy oriental ambience. Peach Blossom serves all-you-can-eat Dim Sum a la carte Buffet daily at a price of $55++ per pax on weekdays and $65++ per pax on weekends. The a la carte Buffet offers over 50 different dishes, including Braised Shark’s Fin Soup with Crab Meat, Whole Abalone and Wonton in Superior Broth and Baked Lobster with Cheese. Out of the many dim sum places in Singapore, Asia Grand scores for both its dim sum and its cozy atmosphere. The restaurant offers a wide selection of mouth-watering dim sum which includes their best sellers: Steamed Cheong Fun with Shrimp, Fried or Steamed Carrot Cake, Lean Meat Porridge with Preserved Egg and the Baked Custard Bun. Swee Choon has served Singaporeans with delicious Hong Kong and Shanghai dim sum since 1962. Although this long-established hawker dim sum place has increased its prices over the years, the food served is still very affordable when you consider the quality of ingredients used. One of the best aspects of Swee Choon is that it remains open until 6am every day, perfect for those looking for a midnight supper.
