How often have you skipped dessert because you felt guilty about overeating after a good meal? Or felt guilty about indulging in a sugar- and fat-laden dessert?
Well, you shouldn’t feel bad. A dessert is the culmination of every meal. Sometimes it can even make up for a bad meal. It’s a prize. It’s a consolation. It’s something we all deserve.
Before I give you the best places to get Instagram- and Michelin Star-worthy desserts, here are some reasons to indulge your sweet tooth:
* It can help you lose weight. Research at the Tel Aviv University’s Wolfson Medical Centre discovered that non-diabetic obese people can lower their weight by eating dessert for breakfast. It’s because desserts reduce cravings throughout the day.
* It can put you in a good mood. Ever wondered why depressed people like to eat sweets? Endorphins, the feel-good hormone, are released the moment we eat something sweet.
* You’ll not get fat. Well, if you take only a few nibbles. Who says you have to eat everything on your dessert plate? Studies had shown that even a few bites of your favourite dessert are enough to satisfy cravings.
