Located in Jurong East, the Chickata Makan Place is a halal-certified restaurant that serves a hearty Thai style BBQ & steamboat, complete with marinated meats, seafoods, and homemade chili sauces. Following a change in restaurant concept since March this year, they now offer full self-serve halal buffets. If you’ve visited them in the past, do note that ala-carte and combo platters are no longer served here anymore.

From Tuesdays to Thursdays, Chickata serves 90-minute buffets at a price of $19.90 per adult. You can also opt for their 150-minute buffet at a price of $34.90 per adult.

From Fridays to Sundays, Chikata serves 90-minute buffets at a price of $25.90 per pax, including 1 premium dish for each paying adult. If 90 minutes is too short for you, their 150-minute buffet is priced at $39.90 per adult.

The price for all children aged 6 to 12 is a flat $9 regardless of the day of the week. Children below the age of 5, or 120 cm in height, dine for free.

All prices listed above include white rice and drinks. They serve freeflow chicken soup base, but you can top up an extra $5 for tom yum instead. Furthermore, the weekend menu has more items than the weekday menu. But don’t take bite off more than you can chew! The restaurant charges food wastage at $10 per 100g.

Who says having an all-you-can-eat buffet at Orchard for less than $20 is impossible? At the Rice Table, you can have an authentic Rijsttafel meal—Indonesian cuisine served in a banquet-style that was invented by the Dutch in colonial-era Indonesia—for just $18.95.

You can get a 15-dish (excluding drinks and dessert) all-you-can-eat lunch buffet for just $18.95 per pax. The 15-course buffet includes ayam kolio, daging rendang, ayam panggang and more.

For $29.55, you get an expanded 20-dish all-you-can-eat dinner buffet, excluding drinks and dessert. Beef, chicken seafood, vegetables, tofu and satay are served in various flavours of sweet, sour, salty and spicy.

What makes the buffet special is that rather than queuing up for your food, all dishes are served directly to your table, Rijsttafel-style. This lets diners have a quick sampling of all the available dishes, after which you can order more of whichever dish you like.

Although the Rice Table restaurant itself is not halal-certified, as they serve alcoholic drinks, you can be assured that all food there is prepared with halal meat and ingredients.
