Open since November 2017, Paradigm Mall JB is one of the largest malls in Johor with over 500 retail shops sitting in its seven-storey building. Its ideal location within the Skudai district and is only around 15.5km from Woodlands Checkpoint, making it easily accessible to not only locals but also tourists, especially Singaporeans. Here are 10 good eats you must try when you visit Paradigm Mall JB. Check them out!

 

1. Awa Mee Bar

Located on the 4th floor, Awa Mee Bar serves delicious noodles which will instantly warm your stomach. Their slogan “A bowl of nice soup should come with a bowl of good noodles” says it all. The secret lies in their soup which is said to be double boiled for 4 hours before getting served on a pot which has been pre-heated to 280°C. On the other hand, their noodles are homemade and freshly served. In order to enjoy the best condition of the food, the noodles and soup are served separately. Diners will need to pour the hot soup over the noodles before consuming.

Craving some Thai food? Amphawa Thai Tea & Co is your ideal choice. Named after the popular floating market near Bangkok, it serves authentic Thai food and beverages that will spark joy in you. With their first branch open in Thailand, Bar-B-Q Plaza is a self-cooking Mongolian-Japanese style barbeque restaurant and has arrived in Malaysia. With a selection of high-quality meats and vegetables, this place provides diners a unique grilling experience while dining. What makes it extra special is its specially prepared sauce, which complements well with the grilled marinated foods. Such cooking experience makes the whole dining at Bar-B-Q Plaza an enjoyable one.

“Go Noodle House” is one of the highly recommended places as it serves superb rice noodles with delicious soup. Their signature rice noodles are slightly thicker than the usual ones out there, with a thickness similar to udon. The soup base is the one that does the magic. There are five soup bases to choose from: pickled chili pepper soup, superior soup, tomato soup, tom yum soup and salted vegetable soup. The superior soup base is the star, but do take note that it contains wine. So if you don’t take alcohol, you can simply request one without it, it’s just as good as the original one.

At D’Shanghai, be prepared to indulge in a tantalizing Dim Sum feast. D’Shanghai has an oriental ambiance similar to that at Crystal Jade or Tim Ho Wan. Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings) is their signature dim sum dish here. The skin is so thin that you can easily see through it. The soup within that ooze out with one bite is so good that you will crave for more. Their Siew Mai is also highly recommended, each filled with a whole shrimp and pork. Dip them with D’Shanghai special Dried Shrimp Chilli for an additional spicy kick. Some other things you shouldn’t miss include steamed Liu Sha Bao, steamed rice rolls and XO fried carrot cake.

One of the most popular Japanese sushi chains in Malaysia, Sushi Zanmai is famous for its high quality sushi at affordable prices. They provide authentic Japanese food which includes more than 100 assortments of sushi and 100 varieties of cooked food. Arashi Shabu Shabu & Kinsahi focuses on Japanese individual hotpot whereby diners are allowed to choose their own preferred soup base without sharing. By doing so, it also promotes hygiene. Super Laksa offers authentic Penang Laksa in Johor Bahru without travelling to Penang – especially with the taste of their Belacan (shrimp paste) adding more flavours into your bowl.
