It’s the school holiday season, and that can only mean more outdoor fun for the kids! However, with the blazing hot weather as of late, it isn’t exactly an enjoyable temperature for children to be playing outside in. So why not take them out to cool down at a water theme park, whether it be one in Singapore or across the causeway in Johor Bahru? It’ll be an equally refreshing time for parents and children alike! Located in Resorts World Sentosa, Adventure Cove Water Park really puts the ‘adventure’ in the water park. The water park feels like a crossover of Indiana Jones and Tomb Raider, with its theme of exploring ancient ruins while you get your adrenaline pumping on big water slides and roller coaster rides! The park also features marine life, and you can snorkel with schools of fishes, or get up close with dozens of gentle, friendly rays at the Ray Bay.

Since its opening in 2004, Wild Wild Wet has been the largest and perhaps most popular water park in Singapore, located at Pasir Ris at Downtown East. The water park is well-known for its range of rides and water activities that attract both adults and children alike. While the park is well-known for its extreme slides such as the 360-degree loop Vortex and Slide Up, if you’re traveling with younger kids, there are child-friendly water play areas available around the entire park. The water park has been awarded the Pro-Family Business Mark for its numerous family-friendly facilities.

An indoor waterpark to beat the heat, Splash-N-Surf can be found on the rooftop of the Kallang Wave mall. The waterpark offers two play areas for children, a 0.6m deep pool and a water playground. Splash-N-Surf also has a surfing zone called Stingray, where you can learn the basic techniques of surfing with bodyboards and skimboards. A small lazy river is also there for those who just wants to relax and float.

This is for anyone who’s up for a challenge! Singapore Wake Park is the country’s only cable – ski park built in a lagoon at East Coast Park. The park ensures a safe environment for both beginners and experienced riders. Beginners are recommended to try out System 2.0, where you can get yourself used to kneeboards and wakeboards. Wake Park provides facilities such as changing and shower rooms. And after a day of fun and activities, you can quench your thirst and hunger at their cafe and bar, Coastal Rhythm, a semi-alfresco dining area that offers the best view of the lagoon and a breezy atmosphere.

Desaru Coast Adventure Park is located along the beachfront of Desaru. Spanning over 3,900 acres of the beach, it is indisputably the largest water park of Johor Bahru. The water park features over 20 different wet and dry rides across 5 zones, where you can choose between chill and thrill rides; there is something for everyone. Their signature water attraction, the Tidal Wave Beach, is one of the largest man-made wave pools ever built! Parents who wish to practice their swing can enjoy a day of golfing at the sea-facing golf course. Legoland is Malaysia’s first international theme park, and it promises a truly interactive experience for visitors. The adjoining water park has around 20 big slides as well as 70 lego brick models. Soak yourself in their many attractions, such as the Joker Soaker, an interactive attraction where you can launch water cannons at each other, while a massive bucket hanging overhead empties a waterfall on everyone every other minute. Let your kid’s creativity take the steering wheel at Build-A-Boat, where they can build their own boats using Lego bricks. Challenge your friends and family to have a go at Slide Racer, where you zoom down waterslides on soft foam mats, going as fast as you can! Austin Heights is a popular theme park located at the Mount Austin area, where it opened in 2015. It features a waterpark and an adventure park. Although not the largest theme park in the state, it has still drawn many locals and tourists alike. Austin Heights has a total of 12 outdoor rides and various indoor activities. One of the most thrilling rides to try here is the Yellow Wall, where you ride down a giant slide at full speed, only to be shot back up against a near-vertical slope at the end. The Yellow Wall will have you screaming in fun!

It Johor’s first indoor water park, and it’s located at the ground floor Today’s Mall. Tiram Water Park boasts a 26,000 square feet area, and is decorated with a sea world theme, with various sea animal statues. Parents can relax themselves in the jacuzzi pools while their kids have fun in the water. Tiram Water Park has special rates for group bookings, making it ideal for gatherings of family and friends!
