Why Google and Facebook Are Worried About Singapore’s Plan to Check Fake News With New Law
Singapore’s plan to enact a new legislation to tackle fake news has worried Facebook and Google. At a public hearing of the Select Committee on Deliberate Online Falsehoods in Singapore Parliament on March 23, senior officials of Facebook, Google, Twitter and the Asia Internet Coalition opposed the move for a legislation to handle fake news.
